Norn
This race of towering hunters experienced a great defeat when the Ice Dragon drove them from their glacial homeland. Nevertheless, they won’t let one lost battle—no matter how punishing—dampen their enthusiasm for life and the hunt. They know that only the ultimate victor achieves legendary rewards.
Character creation
During character creation, a player can customize a norn's physical appearance and answer three race specific biography questions which affect their personal story:
•what is the most important quality of a great hero.
•what happened at a recent celebratory moot in Hoelbrak.
•which of the four main Spirits of the Wild offered its guardianship.
The norn home instance is in the Hunter's Hearth in the Great Lodge in Hoelbrak.
Norn racial skills are related to their spirits. The player's choice of totem does not restrict the skills and abilities available to the character.
The Power of the Norn
Jormag drove them from their original homeland, but the norn are no refugees, battered and seeking aid. Rather, they see the Elder Dragon as merely another challenge to be bested. If not today, then soon. Until that day comes, until the hero who will shatter the tooth of Jormag arises and shows the norn the way back to their northern homes, the norn will live each day as if it were their last. The living world is a wondrous place for them, filled with challenges, struggles, and the potential for great stories.
Your Norn Character
Your norn character’s adventure begins in the wild and dangerous Wayfarer Foothills, not far from the great hall of Hoelbrak, the largest norn settlement in the Shiverpeaks. It is here you will write the first chapter in your great saga—may the skaalds sing your praise!
